Fornication

I know almost all of us are already aware that a lot of teenagers nowadays are engaging in Fornication. For those who are confused if there is a difference between Fornication and Premarital sex, there is actually no difference. Premarital sex is just a euphemism of Fornication. Ehem.. For the sake of elaboration, here is an excerpt from www.thefreelibrary.com:

According to www.mukamo.com, 1 out of 4 Filipinos aged 15-24 are engaging in premarital sex, this year's study also says that close to 4 million youngsters are engaging in premarital sex with 30% of the respondents doing it in their own homes while 18% were doing it in motels and hotels. http://www.mukamo.com/premarital-sex-high-among-filipino-youth/

I have a lot of friends who are already non-virgins. Most of them are only teenagers, aged 13-17. Some people who I know were devirginized when they were in 6th grade. Shocking? NOT. Like what I said earlier, there are already a lot of teenagers who are engaging in fornication and the society somewhat accepted this sad reality. Thus, a lot of issues and controversies emerged regarding this matter.

One of these issues is the proposition of SexEd for children here in the Philippines. Some agreed on this because they think children should already know what sex is, why do people do it, etcetera. However, others didn't like it because they think children are too young to understand sex. They might be more curious about it and try it themselves.

Damn. Teaching SexEd to the children. This is the effect of the people's awareness of the things teenagers do nowadays. When I think of these issues, I can't help but to think that Filipinos in the past were very lucky. People were so conservative. Being a non-virgin was a big deal, being a non-virgin was uncommon, being a non-virgin means you're a skank. But now, being a non-virgin usually means being popular, being beautiful/handsome, being rad, and so on and so forth.

But yes, whatever happens, whatever side you are on (in favor of Fornication or not), we should always remember that Fornication is a sin. Having sex outside of marriage is a sin, especially if the one you're making love with is already married.
