It's the Government's Fault

"It's the Governments fault!"

- That's what we usually hear from people when we ask them why our country is poor. We can't blame those people from thinking that way. You know why? Because the constitution said so.

According to the 1987 Philippine Constitution:
Whatever good is done by the Government is attributable to the state but every harm inflicted on the people is imputable to the Government.
Correct me if there are syntax errors. This was just given to us by our Poligov professor/lecturer.

In my opinion, the statement (according to the 1987 Philippine Constitution) mentioned above is the reason why most people blame the Government whenever negative things occur. The bad effect of this statement is that, most people become selfish.

Others would blame the Government because there are a lot of poor people in our country, our population's big, there are a lot of beggars (most of them are minors), there are drug pushers, mass starvation, etcetera.

When it comes to blaming the Government because there are a lot of poor people in our country and we have a large population, don't you realize that if these poor people won't make babies, our country won't have a large population? I don't know why there are stupid people who think that having a lot of children is a blessing. Yes, having your own child is truly a blessing.. As long as you can raise them well, give them their rights, and as much as possible, give them privileges.

Why would you make a child if you already know that you won't be able to raise him well? Why would you make a child if you know you won't be able to give his rights properly? Why would you make a child if you can't even eat 3 times a day? You're poor. You made a baby. The baby was born. Then what? What will be the future of that baby? A future beggar? After a couple of years you'll be a drunkard then force your child to beg for money in the dangerous streets? Now that's an epic fail.

When you ask the people to define the Philippine Government, a common answer is, "Our Government is corrupt!" Okay. FYI, not all the Government officials are corrupt. There are still a few public officers who are still kind enough not to betray the public's trust.

When it comes to drug pushers, drug lords or whatever illegal that a lot of people do, and then blame the Government because if they helped these people in the first place, they won't end up being criminals, blah blah blah yadah yadah yadah. Pfft, lame excuses.

The Government established laws for us to follow. The Government, being the Parens Patriae (parent of the state), established laws to protect the rights of the people, to protect the people from harm, to fix the legal relationships between people (especially the parents && children and husband && wife), and a lot more.

Being poor is not a valid reason for doing crimes. There are a lot of legal/decent jobs out there. If you will tell me that you weren't able to finish college that's why you weren't able to find a decent job with a high salary, your argument is definitely invalid, bro. My father was poor. But he managed to finish college because he was a working student. Now, he's a successful company lawyer. It's all about hard work.

Our Government is not perfect, people. Our country is not composed of the Government alone, but also ordinary citizens. Ordinary citizens like you and me. If you want a change in our country, don't wait for the Government or other people to change first. You should be the one to make a change. Start with yourself.
